for mixed ensemble (2010)
A musical response to the childhood party game of the same name. The piece calls for the players to perform from a score, which they have not seen previously, and to stop when the conductor has stopped conducting. The conductor may stop conducting at any point. The conductor must then nominate who they believed was the final player to play. They are now 'out'. The piece begins again and follows this pattern until only one player is left, the winner. The pieces consists of twelve individual parts and although the piece seems overly complex as players drop out the music begins to clarify.
Premiered by the Alphabet Ensemble in the Cardiff University Lunchtime Concert Series in 2010.
